Support Captain Paul Watson Foundation UK
On the 18th of May 2023 our UK charity re-branded as the 'Captain Paul Watson Foundation UK' (CPWF UK).
Founded as Sea Shepherd UK in June 2005, we were one of the oldest established Sea Shepherd entities with our own campaigns, and most importantly fully independent (pre-dating 'Sea Shepherd Global' by over 8 years).
Despite all the difficulties in rebranding an 18 year old charity - we decided that this had to be done in order to make it totally clear that our loyalty is to our founder - the pioneering direct action marine conservationist Captain Paul Watson.
CPWF UK's 6 campaigns include Operation Bloody Fjords since 2016 working to stop the dolphin hunts in the Faroe Islands with a new initiative called 'Faroes Free', in Iceland since 2018 against commercial whaling, in Namibia since 2023 against the fur seal hunt, our Ghostnet Campaign since 2018 actively removing deadly fishing gear from wrecksites whicgh are a magnet for marine wildlife, and Project One Wave which our UK volunteers do such a great job on with supportive members of the public and the comany Seashell detecting and clearing debris from remote beaches and working on new ways with partners of recycling as much of that material as possible.
CPWF-UK will collaborate with the Captain Paul Watson Foundation (founded in 2022) and the other CPWF chapters around the world, as well as with the two remaining independent Sea Shepherd entities in France and Brazil which also remain reolutely loyal to Captain Paul Watson.
Our campaigns will continue to be solely for the benefit of marine animals, who are ‘our clients’. Our investigations will be followed by action, whether that be physical intervention, legal action, or both.
CPWF-UK will never be subject to restrictive agreements with governments. Our media and opinions will never be censored. And our crew will go where they are needed - even if they are unwelcome.
So to everyone who has stayed with us on our voyage through these treacherous times and rough waters - you have our thanks!
If you can please do support our campaigns defending #whales #dolphins #seals and other marine life by donating to our charity here via Enthuse.
Many thanks!
